How to Choose the Right LED Display Pixel Pitch?

Not sure which LED pixel pitch is right for your project? 👀

One of the most important decisions when choosing an LED display is the pixel pitch.

Simply put, pixel pitch is the distance between two LED pixels. The smaller the pixel pitch, the higher the pixel density and the closer viewers can sit while still seeing a clear image.

📌 Quick Guide:

🔹 P1.5–P2.5
Best for indoor applications with close viewing distances — meeting rooms, control rooms, retail stores and high-end commercial displays.

🔹 P2.5–P3.9
A popular choice for indoor and outdoor applications where viewers are at a medium distance.

🔹 P4–P6
Suitable for outdoor advertising, shopping malls, buildings, schools and other large-format LED displays.

🔹 P6–P10+
Usually used for large outdoor billboards, stadiums and applications where the viewing distance is relatively far.

💡 The smaller pixel pitch is not always better.

The right choice depends on viewing distance, screen size, installation environment and budget.

For example, choosing P1.5 for a large outdoor billboard may increase the cost significantly without providing any real benefit to viewers.

👉 Choose the pixel pitch based on the viewing distance — not simply the smallest number.
